Dates to Remember in November

 
For All Ages:
The Bridging Cultures Film Series presents Koran by Heart: One Chance to Remember at 11:00 a.m. on November 2. This documentary follows three ten year olds as they compete in Egypt's International Holy Koran Competition.
 
Check out the library's “Maker Space” drop-in program anytime between November 4-7 and create a stylish rubber band bracelet.
 
Celebrate International Games Day between 1:30 – 4:00 p.m. on November 16. Experience the world through games. Win prizes, launch Angry Birds, play Schokoladenessen (the chocolate eating game), Kendama, Loteria, and more.
 
Suzanne’s crochet class invites all with a PhD (Project Half Done) or anyone wishing to begin a new project to meet on November 9 to “get crafty.” The class meets from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. No experience required.

Ashe Library hosts a Patron Appreciation Party: Cruisin' the Stacks all day on November 23. Enjoy root beer floats, music of the 50s, Shag dancing, and poodle skirts!
 
For Children:
Story Time for 4-5 year olds is at 10:30 a.m. every Tuesday.
 
Tot Time for 2-3 year olds is at 10:30 a.m. every Wednesday and Thursday. Come out and have fun learning the alphabet with stories and songs.

Baby Bounce” is on November 2, 16, and 30. This is a short 15-20 minute program for infants and babies that will include fingerplays, songs, rhymes, and a book or two.
 
Afternoon Adventures for 6-9 year olds will meet at 4 p.m. on November 10 to play “Guten Tag” and travel in Germany.


For Teens:
Sign up for Gamer Haven and enjoy Xbox 360 in the teen space. Half hour time slots are available beginning at 4:00 p.m. on November 7 and 14.

Outside the Box is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. on November 21. Are the odds in your favor? Dress as your favorite character from Catching Fire and come for a mini-banquet, view the Hunger Games, and win cool prizes.
 
Geek out with Otaku’s United Anime / Manga Club at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays.

For Adults:
Tai Chi classes are available at 10:00 a.m. on Thursdays.

Brouhaha Book Club meets at 5:30 p.m. on November 25 at Boondocks.

Grow Yourself, self-paced computer use tutorial sessions, are held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesdays.

Caregivers 101 to be held at 2:00 p.m. on November 13. Meet fellow caregivers and learn more about the resources available to you.

Participate in National Novel Writing Month at the library. A NaNoWriMo Group meets at noon every Friday to support those attempting 50,000 words in 30 days.

Special Events:
Music on Saturday presents Scot Pope, at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 16.
 
There will be a reception in the upstairs art gallery area at 2:00 p.m. on November 16 featuring Bluemoonistic Images.
