Homegrown Author, Eva Nell Mull Wike, visits Ashe Library

Eva Nell Mull Wike, will be visiting Ashe County Library as part of the Homegrown Author Series to share stories from her new book Fiddler of the Mountains.  This is a family history story about her uncle, Johnny Mull, and her ancestors from Clay County, North Carolina.  Eva tells about her own adventures tracing family roots to Scotland’s Isle of Mull.  A CD of Johnny’s traditional music accompanies the book.

The Matheson Cove – In the Shadow of the Devil’s Post Office ,  is Eva’s first book and tells the story of her parents and her own years growing up.  Filled with photos, her memories come to life with stories of mountain upbringing and family ties.

Eva has lived in Oak Ridge, TN since 1958, and was a Physics/Mathematics teacher at Oliver Springs High School in Roane County, TN and at Hillsboro High School in Nashville, TN.
Now in retirement, she enjoys spending time with friends, playing tennis, swimming, and believe it or not … mowing grass!

Come by Ashe Library at 1:00 p.m. on April 29 to meet a “Homegrown Author” and celebrate mountain family stories.
