Christmas Shopping at the Library!

Is the hustle and bustle of holiday shopping putting a damper on your Christmas spirit? Why shop ‘til you drop?  Personally I am not fond of shopping.  Trying to find the right gift can be an overwhelming task, especially when shopping on a limited budget.   Relax; there is a solution to avoiding the crowds and stress of heavy road traffic!

Let the Friends of Ashe Library make things easy for you.  The Friends of the Library have a wonderful gift/book shop in the library.  The prices are definitely affordable and the proceeds benefit the library!  You will find a wide variety of gently used (like new) books and magazines for all ages, as well as beautiful and unique gift baskets in the Friends Bookshop.

Mary Caryl Elmore, one of the Friends Volunteers, does a wonderful job designing the gift baskets.  The baskets are filled with books and small gift items of a similar theme.  For example one child’s basket includes the beloved picture book Corduroy  along with a precious teddy bear.  Another basket for the Jazz enthusiast contains CDs as well as the book Learn to Play Jazz Guitar.  Each basket is put together with a special someone or occasion in mind.  You will find baskets to suit the interests and hobbies of just about anyone … I even found a NASCAR basket for my brother!

Be sure to stop in the library and find the perfect Christmas gift for all your loved ones!
